Rumor has it...Snhu is going to fill the parking lot outside Robert Frost and turn it into a quad?
And if that's the case, I need to start the transfer process asap. Well obviously that's a little dramatic, but it makes a big difference. I'm a commuter and as it is I leave 30 minutes before my class begins. If traffic is slow I book it right to Snhu, and no matter what time I get there its always a silent battle for a parking space. Anyone who's commuted knows what I mean, when you have to beat a car to a spot or when you sit with your blinker on for 5 minutes just to make sure everyone knows that once that car backs out you've got dibs on that spot. My new favorite tactic is looking for students with keys and awkwardly stalking them to their cars at a neutral rolling pace. (I drive stick)
But seriously even if they have designated commuter lots they're on the other side of the road and a ten minute walk away. Might I add... I HATE winter. I hate being cold I hate brushing show off my car and I hate when the bottom of my pants get all frozen and damp. And I just dont want to walk the extra ten minutes.
Also, I've gone to a school with a quad before, it was just nice to look at. Aside from one movie night event and the twice weekly hackensack club, it was just a big open space that meant more maintenance for the groundsmen.
I probably sound crazy and whinny, but if I had a vote I would say no quad! In fact id like to see my overly priced tuition dollars go to something else, like maybe....a freshly paved parking lot. lol

         During my K-12 experience technology was very minimally integrated in our curriculum.  I grew up in a public school system which progressively lost funding throughout my K-12 schooling. But regardless there was always some form if technology present in the classroom.
In elementary school we had laptop carts and a desktop computer in every room. 
         I think that some of the the activities that teachers prompted on the computers were worth while but more often than not we just used them as search engines to do busy work or begin researching a topic. 
         In my personal life I use technology (well as least my iPhone...) maybe too much. But I love learning new ways o manipulate technology or apps. And as a teacher I would love to heavily in integrate technology in my class. But in a way where student are engaged and understand what they are doing.

My math 106 class is using it as a live survey and interactive testing portal. 
I would love to use this in a high-school class.

           After a long and miserable fall semester at Emmanuel College I decided to transfer to Snhu for the 2014 spring semester. Manchester is my home town so it was the easiest  place to transfer at such a short notice. I honestly thought that Snhu would be a transitional period for me; that I would go for a semester and then transfer away from home again. But academically I fell in love with Snhu. I am a commuter and I really only attend classes here, but after only one semester I feel more focused and successful than ever. My first semester I obtained straight A's and my goal is to maintain top academic achievements here at Snhu.
